Flows have stabilized and the Green is fishing well! There are still a few cicadas around, and yellow sallies have started.
It’s been hot out there the last few days! Rain is in the forecast.

29 INCH RAINBOW
Steve and his son Jake out from Michigan landed this beautiful 29 inch Rainbow on the a section May 5th. It measured 29 inches! And was landed on a size 22 baetis nymph. It is one of the cleanest rainbows we have ever seen on the Green River, Utah.
FISHING THE GREEN RIVER, APRIL 2018
Fishing is good right now on the Green River, Utah! Blue Wing Olives are hatching on overcast days, and on sunny days we’re seeing the midge hatch happen. The nymph fishing is good, as well as the dry fly fishing but is more weather dependent. Today is rainy and cold, expect the B section below Red Creek Rapid to be blown out for a few days.
We had a great couple of days with Jeff and Steve! Nice fishing guys, great numbers.
JANUARY 2018 FISHING THE GREEN
The warm weather and 3 day weekend have brought some good fishing on the Green River Utah. Some BWO’s have been coming off, and the streamer fishing is good! There are crowds out so prepare for some other anglers in the water.
FALL FISHING ON THE GREEN RIVER UTAH
The colors are changing and we’ve seen the first of snow for the season! The nymph fishing is good- try pseudo-nymphs or scuds. There’s some dry fly action to be had in back eddies- try a small ant or parachute Adams. October is filling up- we expect the fishing to be good late into the season! Pictured below is Guide Nick Jackson with one of our favorite clients Joe Snoy. Joe landed several fish on the fly rod throughout the day including this nice Brown!

DRY FLY FISHING THE GREEN RIVER
The dry fly fishing is decent right now on the Green River, Utah. Ants and Hoppers are working well. Brock landed this beautiful 22 inch Brown today, on an ant dry fly.
AUGUST FISHING ON THE GREEN
August is here and summer is almost over! The river has been busy with rafters and fisherman! Big bugs have recently been doing well for dry fly fishing. Hoppers are on the banks and fish are looking up. The pseudo hatch has started, try a pheasant tail nymph. Small ant flies are also working. We’ve had rain showers almost every day for the last month, so bring your rain jacket!

CADDIS HATCH
Since the flows have dropped the fishing has been great. Small dry flies are working well as there is a large Caddis hatch daily, Yellow Sallies have died off for the most part but can still be seen. Swarms of small midges have been erupting. Nymph fishing is good right now- try a scud or pheasant tail. Streamer fishing is also good!
Thunderstorms have been happening every afternoon so make sure you bring a raincoat when you come up!
GREAT FISHING, DROP IN FLOWS
We had a great day on the Green River yesterday with Andy and Wyatt out of Maine. We landed several fish including this awesome double! We are looking forward to a drop in release flows starting July 5th and ending July 10th at 2400 CFS.
FLOWS DROP FOR TWO DAYS
The Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam is at 6600 cfs until tomorrow, then flows increase back up to 8600 cfs for the rest of June. Small nymphs are working well!
